Whelp, a coworker sent me a picture of a car to ID, and I wrongly guessed ‘58 Edsel Pacer and not Citation. I AM UNDONE OH THE SHAME

well, at least you’re aware enough to know there was more than one model of Edsel; most people seem to thing “Edsel” was one particular car.

Nailed a ‘64 Electra 225 at 75 yards at a car show, blew a Buick (Special, not Skylark) in the same go. I share your shame.

and it’s interesting how many of the names eventually ended up on other cars. Citation, Ranger, Pacer, Villager.

There’s also the Edsel-that-wasn’t - the Comet. Was going to be a quasi-Edsel mutant remora brand in ‘60, was launched under Mercury instead (with no Mercury badges in the first year).

Be still, and fault yourself not. Lo, it is the fault of they who dared invoke the Son of Henry (hallowed be thy name), for they understand not the effects his machines have on the minds of men.

I didn’t get that much time to look at it, was kind of rushing, which is not the kind of thing to do with this kind of exhibit:
